Overview
Care Instructions
Appears to be susceptible to Chlorosis. This may be a result of the original soil in the planter box.
No other care taken other than mulching the planter box.
Plant History
This plant was purchased from the Blackheath nursery and planted in Spring 2023. It had moderate growth over the first year, but the leaves stayed yellow.
In Spring 2024, Iron Chelate was applied to address the possible issues with yellow leaves (chlorosis). First application of 15mg over 5L of water on 21 September. The plant seemed to respond well and had a good growth over that season.
Personal Musings
The Banksia was one of the first trees that was planted. He was one of the turning points in starting the garden into something with more thought and planning. He is sized to give something interesting to look at out of the back window (and attract some nice birds), but not grow too tall and prevent the sun from getting in or be too close to the house.
